Updates?

It's been quite a while since I've updated..so this is basically an excuse for me to confuse you with all my jumbled thoughts. XD

Alright, so I just started high school a little over a month ago. I like it better than middle school, definitely. The only thing that really sucks, though, is that I don't have any classes with my friends, and I HATE it.

You know what else I hate? I hate when people are just so caught up in their own little world. I know quite a few people like that, and it's really starting to piss me off..!
 EARTH TO NARCISSISTS!!

Moving on..

I've been spending my free time listening to songs in Spanish and translating them, mostly because I have almost no social life atm.

I guess it's good practice, considering that I want to be a translator.

*sigh* Let's hope my social life improves soon.(it would be a lot easier if I didn't feel like many of the kids in my school are entitled brats)

Lesson learned: Don't spoil your kids, it won't do anything to "build character".

These bratty kids really annoy me...and they haven't even done anything to me since elementary school.

That akward moment when...

"That akward moment when..." Ring a bell? Yeah, you've heard it before..if you haven't. you live under a rock.

You know what I noticed? Most of them have to do with my familly.

For example:

That akward moment when you meet relatives you didn't even know you had.
^I'm not the only one this has happend to?

That akward moment when you don't remember how many aunts and uncles you have, and how many cousins you have.
^ Welcome to my life. Heck! Welcome to the life of anyone who is Portuguese..XD

That akward moment when your relative recognizes you, and you don't have clue what their name is, and how they're related to you..
^ If I had a penny for every time this has happend, I'd at least have a dollar,

That akward moment when you realize chances are you're distantly related to a considerable amount of the population of an entire island.
^XD

I guess my familly is just..akward..XD

I have a some new ones, too:

That akward moment when you realize your cousin, who you've know your whole life, is a vegatarian.

That akward moment when your cousins start screaming singing 'Happy Birthday'  at the top of their lungs at Friendly's.

That akward moment when your cousin starts talking (very loudly) about how he has the plague.
^ He didn't really have the plague (obviously)..

That akward moment when your mom and your cousin are having an debate over whether or not said cousin starves himself.
^Dem wrestlers..you know they starve themselves during the season..XD

Yeah..my life is boring..XD

Being Portuguese.

Have you ever seen the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding?  A lot of it reminds me of my family.  Except, instead of a roasting  sheep ( I think it was a sheep) on the front lawn, it's a pig.  Yes, a WHOLE pig, you heard me.
"There are two kinds of people in this world; people who are Greek, and people who want to be Greek"
If he had said Portuguese instead of Greek, I might've confused him for one of my relatives.(ok, that's a hyperbole but whatever..)

My mom often compares what it was like to marry into a Portuguese family with that movie..

-------
Other stuff about minha familia portugues..

I noticed that they have a habit of saying "yeah".
What I mean is this:
"You put the turkey in the fridge, yeah?"
"No.."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
I have no idea how it started, but I noticed a lot of Portuguese Americans have the same habit..
This probably has something to do with the broken English (that I didn't recognize as broken English until recently..o.O)  and the Portingles (a mixture of Portuguese and English, mis amigos gringos.)
that they speak most of the time.

Surprisingly, I know almost no Portuguese ( and neither do most of my second cousins) . X__X   My dad doesn't really speak it, but he understands it. I bet if he went to the Açores ("ç" is pronounced like an "s") or any other place that speaks mainly Portuguese, he would be fluent after only a few days.

Another strange thing: It took a while for my grandpa (a native speaker of Portuguese who understands Spanish, some Italian, and some French) to clearly understand Brazilian Portuguese. Also, his sister has a hard time understanding people from the mainland (my family is from the Açores, if you didn't figure it out by now).

There are a lot of dialects of Portuguese, I suppose..hhmm. I wonder how they speak it in Madeira ( I have relatives who've been there before, and they speak of it as if it's an other country, yet it's part of Portugal, and it's closer to the Açores than the mainland..)  Though, I imagine it's similar to the Açorean accent.

Also, it's considered a big deal if you don't have bread with dinner when you have guests over. :3

Ahh, how I love Popsicks (a type of roll, the "s" is pronounced like an "sh")

Actually, I love Portuguese food in general.  Most of it is either seafood or pork. :3

Oh, and Sumol. I love Sumol, too.  Sumol is basically soda with fruit juice in it.  I like the pineapple one the best, but orange is more common, and also very good. The mango one is gross. The passion fruit one tastes a lot like the orange one. I'm sure there are other flavors, but those are the only ones I can thing of at the moment.

I don't know too much about Portuguese music. The only genre of Portuguese music I know of is Fado. It's a lot like the blues..lyrically at least..
XD

I"m actually more familiar with Spanish music..

Another thing: Portuguese people are very religious. In my relatives' houses there's a statue of Mary or Jesus in every room..and a lot go them go to church regularly
---

Yeaaaah..that's it.... for now.

EDIT: Soccer is a big part of Portuguese culture (as I've said before)...Also, I know one of my cousin's age because I know that her christening was during the World Cup. XD

My love-hate relationship with..an anime??(note: EXTREMELY LONG POST)

First off, no, I am not sane. I've been sucked too far down the anime fan drain to be anywhere near sane.
And, ME normal? Hehehehehhe! Hell to the no! I was never normal, even before the anime.

In fact, I've gone so far down the drain, I've landed in a little place I call the Naruto fandom (and no, I do not mean Japanese fish cakes..)

Okay, so most people call it the Naruto fandom, but I'm trying to write here, people! Geez..

In all honesty, Naruto could be a lot worse, but, it's still pretty bad.. X__X

I do think it has redeeming qualities to it ( such qualities are why I watch it).,  like:

1. the fact that the (most of) the characters are easy to relate to.  Really, even the most evil and insane antagonist have something that happened to them in the past that would lead them to be so..errr...evil and insane  ( although Deidara was just plain insane, I mean, the guy was willing to blow himself up! O__O) . Actually most of them were orphans.. except for Madara..who was shunned by his family..and his entire village ( which, by the way he founded along with the first Hokage..). Which, given what he wanted his family to do, it was understandable, but he was really only trying to help them..
I still want to punch him in the face, though. >.<  (EDIT: But at the same time I want to hug him.. I'm still on  the fence about whether I hate Madara or love him..XD)

Gosh Naruto is just full to the brim with people who had bad childhoods.
Nagato, Konan, Sasori, Orochimaru, Sasuke, and Naruto..all orphans..
and that's just the START of their problems..

2. The backstory behind the entire plot ( am I phrasing this right?)  actually makes sense, and its pretty detailed. I don't mean somebody sealing a Kitsune(nine tailed fox) into a baby. I'm thinking even further back.
I'm talking about:
A (very) long time ago. There was the Sage of (the) Six paths (of the rinnegan?). He was ( I think) thought to be the first Ninja.  He had god like power ( the rinnegan, which only shows up in one  person when the world has sunken in to the deepest dankest pit of despair)  which he used to separate
a giant tailed beast ( i don't remember how many tails it had.. T__T) into 9 parts. A one tailed beast, a two tailed beast..all the way to nine tails.  The tailed beasts still caused a lot of problems, so they were sealed into humans ..who are usually feared, and  treated as weapons, and not actual people.
The Sage  had two sons. The younger one believed in the power of love (?) and the other believed in the power of physical strength. The Sage chose the younger one as successor ( of what I'm not really sure..) instead of the elder one. Older one had a visual justsu ( the sharingan)  and founded the Uchiha clan.
The younger founded the Senju clan and used earth and water style chakra to create wood ( please correct me if I'm wrong..)
The hatred between the two clans lead to a lot of conflict, which led to the foundation of the Ninja villages..which, long story short led Madara to be shunned by his own clan, and village , fight the first hokage, and be presumed dead, while really he was founding a criminal organization (the akatsuki).

Who has the time and the patience to think this all up..?? Talk about being dedicated..
---

However, for every good thing, there's usually a bad thing..
Here's the list so far:

1. Filler..so much filler. It's to prevent the anime from getting too caught up with the manga..but still..

2. The pace is soooooo slow. I really don't want to watch a battle that last 6 episodes..even if some of the jutsus used  look cool..(XD) And, also, I just wanna know how it ends.
Hundreds of episodes and it's just barely seeming to get to the climax.. X_X
----

Yeah, that's basically the beginning of the explanation of my love-hate relationship with Naruto.
Despite the love-hate thing, I'd still recommend it. If you haven't watched the anime please give it a try..( I can't speak for the manga, though. I haven't had a chance to read it though)

You may all shoot me, glare at me or torture me in other ways now,  if you'd like to.

Boredom: The post of epic randomness!

So, it's summer vacation. Every year I spend the entire school year waiting for it. Every year I forget how boring summer can get. Every year I say I'm going to make summer not boring, but I never do. X__X

I've spent most of summer vacation watching t.v or on the computer and most of the rest of it sleeping.

Though I did get to go out for frozen yogurt with my friends..

I saw my cousins yesterday, and that was fun (mostly because the younger ones are so adorable..).

Other than that my life is boring..X__X

Which is why I end up watching anime so often..(I have no life XD)

After a month of doing nothing but blogging and watching anime, it gets kinda tiresome. (Don't get me wrong,  anime is awesome. )

I need to find something else to do..
I do love anime, though..
HELP??

X__X

Goaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal!!

If you've ever watched futbol  soccer, you know what I mean. Especially if you watched the world cup and/or ANY of the European or South American leagues. You can always tell what team the announcer supports because when that team scores, you'll know about it. "GOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!" XD  It amazes me how much stamina some of these people have.

And if you're in my house??
Its still the same. My dad doesn't seem to care if the neighbors think he's crazy. If one of the teams that he loves s  supports scores...X__X
Well he's not any better. I can hear him from upstairs.
"YES!! GOOAAL!"

And if it's at my uncles house and all/most of the family is there???
Its worse.. (usually). I have noisy relatives.  They're at their noisiest when they're watching futbol  soccer.
